HP ENVY Notebook - m7-n109dx (Touch) (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to add M.2 SSD slot to HP ENVY Notebook - m7-n109dx (Touch).

I found the next topic saying that I need SATA M.2 SSD 2280 up to 500gb:
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Does-hp-HP-ENVY-Notebook-m7-n1...
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/What-M-2-SSD-will-work-in-my-E...

so I buyed Samsung 860 Evo-Series 500GB M.2 SATA III V-NAND TLC and install it. And... nothing happened. Tried to reinstall, update all drivers and bios to last version, nothing worked.

Than I found this topic that saying that M.2 slot is locked by HP.
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Adding-Samsung-850-EVO-M-2-SSD...

But this topic is for 2016 and topic for 2020 have answer from HP Support Agent that SSD should work.

The question is: Is M.2 slot locked or I'm doing something wrong?

@Vanchaksy

I reviewed your post and I understand the SSD is not working on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Is the SSD getting detected in the BIOS?

Have you tried with a different SSD? (If available)

Do you have the SATA hard drive and the SSD both connected to the computer? If yes, connect only the SSD and check whether it is getting detected.

Meanwhile, if the SSD is not getting detected in the BIOS then the SSD may not be compatible with your computer and you need to check with a different SSD or a lesser capacity SSD and test.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
