Hi:

Unfortunately, it won't work.

That adapter uses a different drive controller than SATA which your notebook does not have.

You would only be able to use a SATA M.2 to SATA adapter, and there is no point in doing that when you can just replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.

Hi, @Mile37

Your notebook does not have any M.2 slots to add an SSD.

If you want to install a SSD, you will need to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.

You can see a list of your options for an upgrade here.

Hi, @Mile37 it will be best to open up a new case file for this issue.

You already marked this post as solved so more people can see it.

It may confuse others who see two different case files on a solved case.

Okay, I'll delete this and post a new one

Hi, @Mile37

You don't need to delete your follow on question.

The reason the memory only runs at 533 MHz is because that is the fastest speed your notebook's AMD Dual-Core E1-1500 APU can run the memory at.

See chapter 1 of the service manual...

c03763129.pdf (hp.com)

DDR3/1066-MHz (DDR3/1600-MHz downgraded to DDR3/1066-MHz

You take your report, and multiply the speed you see by 2.

2 x 533 MHz = 1066 MHz.
