@Khwai Which of the 15-F222wm models were you able to upgrade to 8GB RAM... the one with the core i3 processor and 2 slots, or the one with the 3450N CPU and 1 slot?

I have the one with the 3450N CPU and 1 slot, and it won't boot up with any 8GB module installed.  I've tried two different 8GB SODIMMs already.

The one with 1 slot. As mentioned in my earlier post (quite long ago), I just used an 8GB Crucial DDR3L-1600 SODIMM that I had lying around. As recommended in the HP Maintenance and Service Guide, you can get an original HP 8 GB memory module (PC3, 12800, 1600-MHz), part no. 693374-001. That should work.
