Pavilion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop has been trying to update the windows 10 update for a few days and always fails. I have tried troubleshooting and in the end it just tells me "HP Pavilion notebook-BIOS needs to be upgraded before you can upgrade to windows 10" And then it tells me to manually uninstall it. No clue how.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Unless your laptop came with Win10 preinstalled, there is no HP BIOS upgrade for it, as HP only makes those available for the OS versions that some preinstalled/

If you would follow these instructions for finding the detailed product number of your laptop, I can verify if a newer BIOS update is available:  Finding Your HP Product Model Number | HP® Customer Support

We can proceed when you provide the information.

Thanks

Product: Pavilion Notebook HP 17-g121wm
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-Bit)
Product Nr N9E13UA#ABA

The current update is: 2018-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4093120)

As I  have opted for auto updates, I keep getting the following message, albeit with different error codes; the latest one of today is:

Failed to install feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0x80248007

when you click on fix the issue, it says:

HP Pavilion notebook- Bios needs to be upgraded before you can upgrade windows. this program needs to be uninstalled because they are'nt compatible with the upgrade.

when you click on uninstall-

it says we couldnt uninstall these apps

you'll need to remove these apps yourself and then select refresh!

I have no clue how to proceed further, how to remove the bios myself? !

I do not want to meddle with the BIOS!

Thanks in advance for your advice.
