Hi,
Your PC supports max 16GB of DDR4 2666Mhz or 2400Mhz RAM (2x8GB)
This is the max models in that series can be bought with. However HP DDR4 systems will run with 32GB of RAM (2x16GB), so that would be the actual max. You can buy from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung....
On page 35 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM:

Let me know if you need any further help,
David

Hi David,
I'm looking to buy one of these laptops as a workstation and 32GB would be awesome, but I can't find a reference to that number anywhere in the manual. It only states 2x8GB on Page 1. Is there a spec document somewhere that confirms that, or is that a characteristic of DDR4 ram laptops?

Hi Gaetano,
We have seen in the forum and in experience that HP DDR4 systems with latest Intel Core processors are able to run with 32GB of RAM. Many Members have performed this upgrade without any problems.
You can also see here on Crucial site, which guarantees its RAM upgrades, that a model in that series will accept 32GB (2x16)

Hope it helps,
David

The instructions on p. 35 of this manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06140010) for accessing RAM --
-- omit a step that another HP laptop manual includes (on p. 36 of http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05527167) :
After removing the battery as in step 5, you need to remove the memory shield to be able to see or access the RAM. The memory shield is large and silver, with black tape on it, though it may be shaped differently. Leave the tape on, just pry the shield upwards. I'd recommend not applying sideways pressure to the sharp edge of the shield with the plump fleshy part of your finger, as you can cut yourself.
