Hello HP Community,
I was browsing around online seeing if I could update my HP Notebook 15 (F387WM) laptop past 8 GB of RAM. I'm not totally sure if the website I was looking at is accurate, so I just wanted to post a question here to be certain.
Can my HP Laptop be upgraded past 8 GB in RAM or am I stuck at 8?
Thanks in advance,
Ian Fettes

Hi Ian,
Your notebook supports max 16GB of DDR3L 1600MHz RAM(2x8GB) even if service manual mentions 8GB
You can purchase from your preferred brand
Example:
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-15-f387wm#memory
On page 29 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04763999
Another upgrade you should perform that would be to replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD. It would give a great boost in performance in everyday usage.
Hope it helps,
David
