Hello,

My laptop model is HP 250 G6 ( 7gen Core i3).

Product number  : 5DK14PA

What the maximum ram capacity of my device

and per channel maximum RAM capacity.

Can I use 8GB and 4GB in two different channel?

RAM - DDR4 , 2400MHz

Now using 4GB + 4GB

Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.

 

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hP-Compaq/hp-250-g6-%28intel-core-i7-7500u---i5-7200u...

 

You can install a max of 2 x 8 GB of memory for a total of 16 GB.

 

You can remove the 4 GB chip and install an 8 GB chip and have 12 GB, but the memory will only run in single channel mode instead of the dual channel mode it is running in now with 2 x 4 GB of memory.

 

In order for the memory to run in dual channel mode, it has to be installed in matching capacities (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 8 GB...)
