@DonaldJuan

Its specs

              https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05870635

It has  8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB), you can upgrade to 16GB max by install same existing 8GB to sot 2 or using the following compatible RAM

Hi, I know the manual says 16gb but this thread suggests 32gb will work in this machine https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-Power-15-cb0xx-can...

Is it accurate?

Hi, @DonaldJuan

The Intel® Core™ i5-7300HQ processor your notebook comes with should support 2 x 16 GB of memory, and you can confirm that by doing this:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

I'm pretty sure you will find that it supports 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 memory.

This should be a compatible 16 GB memory chip for your notebook:
