Hello @Paul_Tikkanen

Please explain why this works if it is not documented in detail? First you say it has 1 slot and supports 8 GB, now it has 2 slots ( open device and check is always the best choice, that was my suggestion ) and the service manual says maximum 8 GB ! How should one still see through here? Instead of constantly guessing, HP should provide clear documentation and current specification data of the product. That helps to solve the occurring problems better.

This is my personal opinion.

Hi, @ub6424

The Crucial memory report for the models with two memory slots indicate that 16 GB of memory is supported, and it has been reported many times by folks with the 15-acxxx model series and the HP 250 G4 business class equivalent that come with two memory slots support 16 GB of memory.

The 8 GB max memory listed in the service manual is incorrect for the notebooks that come with the Intel core or the Intel Pentium® N3825U processors.

You can only know this from experience.

The 'book' is not always right.

Most of the time it is, but not always.

Hello @Paul_Tikkanen

first of all, thank you very much for your comprehensive support !

You wrote that nicely, but it doesn't solve the real problem.

I find the whole thing intransparent and I've been following these issues for a while in this community. You should look here, you should ask them. External sources say this, others say that. The problem should be solved at the root. The technical information that HP is giving to customers. Sorry, but this is the truth and this one hurts in many cases. That's not "The HP way"

As always, this is my personal opinion.

You're very welcome.

Since I don't work for or represent HP, I have zero control over the accuracy of the manuals or guides they provide.

Suffice it to say, that there are inaccuracies and inconsistencies in a few of the manuals, and the more time you invest on this forum, the more experience you will gain separating the wheat from the chaff.

I've been a member of this forum for just about 12 years now.

If you don't think I haven't provided incorrect info to some forum members over the years based on the manuals I have read, you are mistaken.

But I get over it, learn from the experience, make a note of the inaccurate info and move on, so the next time I am prepared to answer a question regarding the same model accurately, and contrary to the incorrect information provided in the manual.

...And most importantly over the years, I have learned from other forum member's responses to questions, and I have learned more that way than any other way, I believe.  That includes some that only posted once, up to and including others that have posted thousands of times.

There is no way that someone can assimilate that knowledge in a 3-month time frame.

Use the forum's search engine before answering a question if you have any doubts.

You may find what you are looking for.
