You're very welcome.
UMA = Unified Memory Architecture (onboard Intel 520 graphics adapter in the case of the 15-ay069 model you want).
Basically, unified memory architecture means the PC uses the system memory to run the graphics. There is no graphics adapter that has its own discrete memory system. There will be some system memory dedicated to the Intel graphics adapter.
Discrete (Dis) memory refers to those models with either the Intel/AMD switchable graphics, or the models with the Intel/Nvidia graphics. The AMD or Nvidia graphics adapters have their own discrete memory system, separate from the PC's system memory.
In either case, you can see that 16 GB is supported on both the models with the UMA graphics or the Discrete graphics.

Hi:
See Chapter 1, page 6 for the memory upgrade info...2 x 8 GB (16 GB ttl) is the max.

Two non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots (Intel Core processors) |
What the above notation means is that only an authorized service center is supposed to install the memory.
If you look at chapter 6 of the service manual, and think you can do it yourself without breaking anything in the process (which of course, would void the warranty), then I suppose you would save a lot of money by doing it yourself.

Thank You so much Paul for the swift response.
I actually already have a HP Laptop Y7X90EA#ABV and i upgraded the memory myself to 16GBx1 and it works super fine.
I was about to buy a new laptop and thought of getting an HP again. I did checked the manual before but the "UMA models only" notation was confusing me.
If possible can you please tell me what UMA models are?
Thank You again
