When I put in a DVD, a window pops up and covers the play button and says I have to upgrade the Power Media player. How do I play DVDs

You can use free software player called VLC to play DVD's. You can download and install from

 

           https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-winrt.html

For the first time, you have to open the disc and play. After the first time it will play when you pop the normal video DVD in. It can play nearly all video and audio formats
