A few months ago I had upgraded my ram by installing a new 8gb stick in the second memory slot. It all worked fine. Recently my battery suffered health issues and my cpu fan died, so I replaced both of them. After turning on the computer there was a black screen with the caps lock key light blinking 3 short and 2 long blinks. I did some research and figured out that it was a memory issue so I unplugged the ram sticks and replugged them. I soon found out that both sticks were working fine but whenever i put a stick in the second slot it isn't booting up anymore. I am currently using the stock ram in slot 1 and its working fine.

When replacing fans you may "kill" the second RAM slot. I always use anti static wrist strap when work on a computer big or small.
Regards.
