Really confused here. Looking to add some memory to my Envy AR010CA. Specs say it should have
8 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) as per this page: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/product/hp-envy-15-ar000-x360-convertible-pc/10862131/model/14431412/do...
Looking at System Information via Windows, it appears to be DDR3 memory.
Does this have another memory slot? If so, what are the options for a memory card for the second slot?
If not, what are my upgrade options?
Finally, why would this not be built to the specifications?

Welcome to HP Forums @Djtapsat,
Thanks for the post.
I understand that you are concerned with the RAM installed on your computer and you are looking to know the upgrade options.
Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
Kudos to you for checking the product specifications and providing the screenshot from HP Support Assistant.
Are you facing any performance issues on the computer?
When was the computer purchased?
Request you to open the command prompt as administrator and enter the following command. wmic MemoryChip get BankLabel, Capacity, MemoryType, TypeDetail, Speed
This would let you know the details of the RAM installed on your computer.
Please click here for the service manual of your computer. Page number 1 states that the RAM is not upgradable on your computer.
HP Support Assistant regularly to update all the drivers on your computer.
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize it wasn't upgradable. We are running Pro Tools on it and it freezes once in a while. There may be some optimizations that can be done. Will try that as the system does meet the system requirements for running this application.
