HP Envy x360 convertible 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have an Envy x360 convertible 15-cp0xxx to be exact. I was wondering if it has upgradable memory as I want to upgrade it, and what would be ideal for it (16gb or 32gb). Thank you!

@Saad63

I can only provide my personal view on this -- and that is that the general view of more memory = faster PC is generally NOT true!

Yeah, an increase from 4GB to 8GB will bring an improvement, but after that, you won't notice any change and you would have spent a lot of money for no gain.

I recently upgraded a laptop from  4GB memory to 12GB memory and have seen NO improvement in performance.

So, if it were mine, and I felt I HAD to increase the memory, I would not go above 16GB.

Hi, @Saad63

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06001791

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

It has two memory slots and each slot can take an 8 GB memory module for a total of 16 GB of memory.

I would definitely consider maxing out the memory to 2 x 8 GB in your PC.

This would be a compatible memory kit for your notebook...

Hi, thank you so much for your responses. I took apart my laptop and im having a tough time finding where the memory is. I attached an image below. The left piece covered with the metal plate seems to be part of the cooling but I could be wrong. Please help me out, thank you!!

You're very welcome.

Looking at the picture you posted, I don't see where the memory is either, and the service manual does not provide any additional info other than to remove the battery and bottom cover to get to the memory location.

I doubt the memory is under the battery.  Removing the battery is normally a safety precaution, but I guess it doesn't hurt to look.

Seems very odd to me that the manual and the crucial report are wrong about upgrading the memory.

What is the product number of your notebook so I can see if there is any additional information on it.

Use this guide for how to find the product number of your notebook...

Hi Paul, I'm sorry but I don't know why my reply didn't post. But just to make sure the product number of my laptop is 4HH56UA#ABA. I did try to see under the battery and it was only the mousepad there lol. I really do appreciate you taking the time to look into this and help me out, thank you very much!

You're very welcome.

The forum has been having major issues for the last few days with posting and replying, so I am not surprised that your post didn't show up.

The product number you posted indicates that you have a HP ENVY X360 - 15-CP0013NR.

The parts list shows that it has removable memory...and supplies the part number and the size (8 GB).

The specs state it comes with 1 x 8 GB of memory.

So, where the memory location is...unfortunately, that I do not know.

I just wanted to make sure that the memory was not soldered to the motherboard.

But since your screenshot does not provide any clues as to where the memory is located, I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you.
