Hello,
I purchased HP Pavilion g6-2230tx laptop from India.
It has 2GB DDR3 1600MHz ram
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS
I want to add more 8GB ram in another unused slote
Kingston ValueRAM 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL11 1.35V SODIMM (KVR16LS11/8)
Is above ram good for my laptop? Please guide me.
Also let me know that what is max ram capacity of this laptop on mentioned OS
I read some where that I can put maximum 8 GB
If it is true then what you suggest in following options otherwice I will put new 8GB ram so it will become 10GB total
1) Remove current ram of 2GB and put one 8GB new ram
2) Not to remove current ram of 2GB and put one 8GB new ram in another slote
3) Put 2 ram of 4GB in both slote
Thanks
Piyush

Hi @PiyushVaja ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g6-2230tx Notebook and needing to know about RAM. Here is a link to your manual page 55. Shows me each slot can contain a 4 GB PC3, 12800, 1600 MHz DDR3 641369-001. The one you listed might not work. If you add both it might only still read the 2GB.
Thanks.
