Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

No the video is soldered into the motherboard so there is no way to upgrade.

Is it possible to upgrade the motherboard? Or do I have to buy a new computer for better faster performance?

Your model as posted above has Intel HD video which at this point is pretty obsolete. The G72 line had some optional motherboard with what were, 6 or 7 years ago, kind of low to middle grade laptop graphics. AMD HD6370. You could find and install one of those boards, likely not too expensive, but in all honesty you would be going to a lot of trouble to go from terribly obsolete to just obsolete.

If you want to pursue it further post back and we can try to help but I would start thinking about another laptop if I were you. You just upgraded the RAM so you likely want to put this decision off a bit I am thinking.

I was hoping for a quick simple fix with the ram upgrade. I know my comp is 10 years old so I will probably just hold off for a couple months and purchase a new computer at that point.

You need to ask questions like that here. We could have told you that a mere memory upgrade would have a negligible positive effect on video performance. I hope it did not cost too much and is worth it for the improvement it did give.

The cost wasn't bad, $70.00. It did help enough to make the game and computer more enjoyable. I really like the hp help center, (you guys) so my next purchase makes me want to buy a hp product. If I spend around 700-800 on a new computer, should that amount of money get me lots of ram and a decent video card
