Yes. 16 gigs is the maximum of 2 x 8 gig modules. Here is the applicable Service manual:
See p. 46. You remove the back cover to access the two memory slots and you would need two of these to reach 16 gigs.
8-GB 693374-005
Add another one of these to reach 8 gigs, probably the most cost-effective upgrade. Dual channel memory operation is not supported.

Many thanks - memory now installed - all tested out fine.
Note for others:
with 4GB - 512Mb is set for video (3.5Gb is available)
Now with 8Gb - 1024Mb is set for video and 6.95Gb is available to windows)
Once again many thanks for your advice - the tech manual on how to get the base off was an added bonus.
