Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa1000 (7N773AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

The laptop is only 3 weeks old, first week playing games went well, the second week I noticed some stuttering while I was playing, games such as Days gone, NFS Heat and sometimes Red Dead Redemtion. Sometimes I do get stuttering, but the FPS remain at the same level, or sometimes the fps drop from 80 to 50 for no reason.

I tried to clean up the gpu catches, seemed like it worked for the first few days, but again I am having this issue while playing NFS Heat and very rare with RDR2.

What can I do?

Thank You

Hi @Vlad201,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds like you may be experiencing performance issues while playing games on your HP laptop. Here are a few steps you can take to try to improve performance and reduce stuttering:

Update drivers: Make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website or the website of your graphics card manufacturer (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD).

Adjust graphics settings: Try lowering the graphics settings in your games to see if that improves performance. This can help reduce stuttering and maintain a more stable FPS.

Close background applications: Close any unnecessary background applications that may be using up system resources. This can help free up resources for your games.

Check for overheating: Ensure that your laptop is not overheating while gaming. Use a cooling pad if necessary and make sure that the laptop's vents are not blocked.

Update game patches: Make sure that your games are up to date with the latest patches and updates. Developers often release patches to improve performance and fix bugs.

Check for malware: Run a full system scan for malware and viruses, as these can sometimes cause performance issues.

Adjust power settings: Try adjusting your laptop's power settings to prioritize performance. You can do this in the Windows Control Panel under Power Options.

Check for background processes: Use Task Manager to check for any background processes that may be using a lot of CPU or memory. End any processes that are not necessary for gaming.

Update BIOS: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS is up to date. BIOS updates can sometimes improve system stability and performance.

Consider hardware upgrades: If your laptop is struggling to run games smoothly, you may want to consider upgrading your hardware, such as adding more RAM or upgrading to a faster SSD.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, it may be helpful to contact HP support or the game developers for further assistance.
