Military Discounts

Is HP discounts for military a scam?  I have been trying to log in to the web page for a new purchase and take advantage of HP military discount, however after trying several attemps using my id.me wallet, there seems to be no way to log into the site to obtain the military discounts that HP advertises as being available.  I have gone through the HP "Front Line Heros" web page where is gives information and asks you to sign up but the only link for a sign up is to id.me for identity verification.  I already have and id.me account and have been verified but after obtaining identity verification, there is no way (that I can find) to sign up with HP to obtain the military discount.  I even tried using the link on the id.me webpage to the HP store and this link only redirects to the same "Front Line Heros" web page that provides no link or information on how to sign up with HP to obtain the discount.  Seems to me if HP is going to offer that to military, there should be some reasonable means of signing up at the HP Store.  Probably time for me to seek out other vendors that offer discounts on new purchases that dont make it impossible to take advantage.  Like Apple, for instance, which makes the process very easy and embeds the military discount in its online shopping store.

Quick Fixes for Verification Loops

• Log in to ID.me first: Go directly to the ID.me site and sign in successfully there before trying to access the military discount on HP.[ref_1]

• Use an incognito window: Open a private browsing window, log into your standard HP account first, and then start the military verification process.[ref_1]

• Turn off blockers: Temporarily disable any active VPNs, ad-blockers, or strict privacy extensions that might block verification pop-ups.[ref_1]

• Switch browsers: Try using a clean session in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.[ref_1]

Chrome and Edge both use "chromium" so try Firefox or use a smartphone.  Possibly a popup is blocked and the popup is the type that asks you to prove you are human by identify stuff in a photo.

Thank you for the reply.  I used edge to try again and was able to finally see a link.  I tried again to register and of course it said my existing HP account email was already associated with another hp account.  Sigh.  Since I dont have another email to associate with the military discounts website, its clear to me HP is not ready for prime time.  

Thanks again for your help.  I think I will try another vendor that doesn't make the registration process so difficult.

FWIW, the company I worked for changed their email from .edu to .org and I lost my educational discounts.  That was a long time ago, in the late 80's.    Since then, those discount places no longer check for .edu and require proof of full time attendance.  I once bought a  three-pack of Windows 7 home using military discount at Staples.  I upgraded to 10 easily when 10 came out.  Microsoft does not do win 11 discount but I was able to upgrade those those 10 to 11 since they were retail and not oem.  Sometimes the discount is the same price as a sales price.   I found that out on a surface pro 4.  You can always get a free g.mail, apple or outlook email.
