So one year and three months after purchasing my Notebook, my HDD died on me, I decided after reviewing a few posts that I should consider installing an SSD, so I went for an NVMe SSD. Opened my computer, following the drawings in my guide only to discover no header installed on my motherboard. I tried calling HP support, they had transferred me all over only to hang up on me. Finally, I got through to someone who told me that since my warranty expired there is nothing that could be done. I am wondering now if it is necessary to have computer stores open computer casing in my presence to verify that all components are installed. Had my HDD not failed, I might never have known that HP sent a faulty computer my way. I need help, even if HP wouldn't replace this part I need to source it. Help me please. I spent more than 700USD to get this computer because of where I am living.

Hi:
The 15-db0000 models with the AMD 'A' series processors did not come with M.2 slots unless they came with a M.2 SSD from the factory.
Also only the notebook's with the Ryzen processors that have M.2 slots would support a NVMe M.2 SSD.
So even if your notebook had the M.2 slot, the NVMe drive you bought would not have worked.
Your only option would be to replace the failed 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.
So nothing is missing. See this related discussion... missing M.2 slot just like yours...another AMD 'A' processor model.
i bought a hp 15 db0018ca based on the manual stating it sup... - HP Support Community - 7258968

Thank you for giving your personal opinion on the subject, also, I'm not such a technical dummy to not know whether my computer as it is built could support what I bought, I did thorough research with my s/n using HP recommendations. Thanks again for your personal opinion.

You're very welcome.
A NVMe drive would not work in your notebook.
Only the models with the Ryzen processors support NVMe.
'A' series processor notebooks support SATA only,.
Buy a 2.5" SATA SSD.
It would be just as fast as a M.2 SATA SSD.
