The PCI Express bus enumeration ends with #3 and the NVMe PCIe SSD controller is not listed.

However, a Hwinfo64 report of a comparable board can be found on the Internet.

There, an NVMe PCIe SSD controller is listed in the Bus section (see below) under PCI Express x4.

My HP Pavilion, on the other hand, does not have a PCI Express x4 slot, but it does have a PCI Express x8 slot. According to the Hwinfo64 report of my HP Pavilion notebook, the graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (GP107M) sits in the PCI Express x8 slot. Specified for this graphics card is: x4.

Maximum Link Width:

16x

In the Hwinfo64 report of the board used for comparison, the graphics card is attached to the PCI Express x16 bus #1 (see below) as listed in the Bus section, i.e. in the correct place (16 lanes).

In the System Buses section of the SiSoft Sandra report of my Pavilion notebook (see below), there is a warning 1204 at the end. Possibly, the reference there to the higher maximum supported speed is due to the lower number of lanes (8 in the bus instead of 16).

If there is a possibility to disconnect the NVIDIA graphics card electrically, I could unscrew the notebook, do the disconnection and boot the Windows partition (In the default setting, another graphics card is active, after all). The hardware initialization should then assign the NVMe SSD to the correct port, since the NVIDIA graphics card is no longer present.

What could be the reason that the PCI Express x16 Bus is not listed by HWINFO in the BUS section of the HP notebook and why the NVIDIA Graphics card is assigned to the PCI Express x8 Bus of the HP notebook instead of the PCI Express x16 Bus?

Thank you very much.

Hello
sorry i don't understand everything and what you wanna do
What is certain, you have a laptop, therefore you cannot do as with a desktop computer, the graphics card in general cannot be removed / replaced
Then, your report may be wrong, software not suitable, or I do not know why otherwise, but unless you make an error see what is indicated
your computer :

However, a Hwinfo64 report of a comparable board can be found on the Internet.

yes, comparable, but not the same?

In the Hwinfo64 report of the board used for comparison, the graphics card is attached to the PCI Express x16 bus #1 (see below) as listed in the Bus section, i.e. in the correct place (16 lanes).

Not the same graphics card, not the same model
So difficult to compare

Warning 1204: Speed is below the maximum supported speed. The device may be in power-saving mode.

Tip 3: Press Enter or double-click on a tip to find out more information.

At the time of the test, is not the computer in economy precisely as indicated?

For the last question
as i mentioned you will certainly not be able to remove the graphics card
We do not have more information on the designs of the motherboards, it is indeed possible that it is the motherboard which is thus, and you will not be able to change that.

Thank you very much. This is all not an answer to the question. UEFI support needed, not Windows.

HP Recommended

Sorry, in this case be clearer
why are you talking about uefi ..
You want to disconnect the graphics card, is that not the point of your main question ?

"If there is a possibility to disconnect the NVIDIA graphics card electrically, I could unscrew the notebook, do the disconnection and boot the Windows partition "
For that I answered you, it is certainly not possible, see the given document ...
I strongly advise you in this case to contact HP directly
as i indicated, we do not have access to specific documents on motherboard designs

Thank you very much.

The motherboard has neither socket nor jumpers.

The issue is:

 The motherboard section specification is:

Motherboard Slots:

2xPCI Express x1, 1xPCI Express x8, 1xPCI Express x16

In the bus specification 1xPCI Express x16 is missing.

By UEFI, the NVidia graphics card is assigned to 1xPCI Express x8 instead of 1xPCI Express x16 where it is soldered on the mainboard.

As a result, any SSD in the 1xPCI Express x8 on the mainboard slot is inaccessible in Windows as 1xPCI Express x8 is occupied in UEFI.

Addendum
I assume the problem is at the level described in the post https://www.heise.de/ct/ausgabe/2013-6-UEFI-Funktionen-schuld-an-Notebook-Defekten-2326650.html ,

Thank you very much.

After my way of thinking, a similar issue is depicted in this thread PCIe bus interface problem | NVIDIA GeForce Forums.

Thank you very much,

I would not post in this forum if contact HP directly is possible.

Please inform you instructor if possible.

The issue is the corrupted initialization of the PCIe slots. The initialization is done by the UEFI.

In the bus section of the HWinfo64 record, you find only three of them. In fact, four of them exist.

In the Gigabyte HWinfo64 record, all four of them recorded properly.

I am unable to present you a properly configured PCIe slots assignments HWinfo64 record from my HP Pavilion because I have not done a record from the hardware before the damage. The record of the Gigabyte mainboard was introduced only to prove that a PCIe slot assignment is missing in the bus section and the assignment of the NVIDIA graphics card is wrong.

Please let generate HWinfo64 a record from a healthy system (as support organization, you shoiuld have) for comparision.

There is a new situation. I have not mentioned that I have installed Lubuntu on the HDD at first.

Ubuntu is known for overwriting the original graphics card firmware.

This could be happend with my HP Pavilion - 17-ab403ng. I don't know how to determine if the firmware was overwritten or not.

Furthermore, I don't know how to install the original HP firmware on the hardware.

Thank you very much.
