I opened my notebook up to access the display connection, and I noticed I only have one memory module. The repair manual says there should be two, a primary and an expansion. It would appear that my Omen has no primary, just expansion. How is this possible? Is this right?

If you look at your product spec https://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c06057200 ,, you'll notice you will only have 1 RAM... but surely you can add 1 more RAM into it, because you have 2 slot for RAM...

It should have at least 2. The first one is at the bottom of your computer. Other(s) is/are under system board, very hard to access.
Regards.
