I want to upgrade RAM, In task manager it shows my laptop have 1 of 2 slots used. I opened up the back but didn't find the 2nd memory slot... Do my laptop have 2 memory slots or just 1? I currently have 4 GB installed I want to upgrade.... Can you suggest the process and which RAM should I buy.
Thank you.

Hello @Hussain5416,
your notebook only has one slot for RAM.
You can replace the module with an 8 GB module DDR3L-1600 or DDR3L-1866 SODIMM like those ones:

So, you mean if I want to increase the RAM, I have to remove that 4 GB and put 8 GB.... I guess my 4 GB RAM would be wasted...... btw, why task manager showing two slots? Can you please link to maintainance and service guide for my laptop.Thank you.

Hello @Hussain5416 ,
In some devices of this series a second slot for RAM is soldered in. I don’t know what was sold in your country.
Please, let me know what has been on the mainboard, if you had opened the bottom cover of your notebook. It will be helpful for other users.
Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for your notebook.

I only see one slot.
Look to the difference on page 47 of the Maintenance and Service Guide.

So, My only option now is to buy a compatible 8 GB memory and replace the original 4 GB one? Am I right? Can you tell me what are the things I should check before buying the Memory?

Yes, you have to replace the 4GB module.
Please, take a look at the link to this website of Crucial.com https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-15q-bu009tu
You will find the information you need to buy a replacement RAM there.
