Product: HP Pavilion 15-au062nr ENERGY STAR
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can I upgrade my Ram from 2 four gig's of Ram  to 12 gigs by combining 1 sticks of 4 gigs and one 8 gig stick for a totle of 12 gigs or do both sticks  need to be the same.

You can upgrade to 12GB of RAM with one 4GB and one 8GB. System won't run full benefit of dual channel, that's all.
