I bought a new laptop from USA and when I registered using serial number and product number, showing in warranty details. Can you help why it would show different model number in warranty details in HP site.
Purchased - 15-dy2073dx
showing as - fa2000(2D120AV)

Hi:
HP has this odd and confusing new way of naming model series.
The general model series is the 15-fa2000 (2D120AV), which includes dozens of 15-dyxxxx notebooks.
If you look at the HP Partsurfer site for the 2D120AV product number, you will find more than 50 different model 15-dy notebooks that show up under that product number.
You will also find your notebook listed on the above link in both a refurbished and non-refurbished model.
The 'R' at the end of the product number indicates 'Refurbished.'
I have provided the link to the non-refurbished 15-dy2073dx product number below and it matches what you found in the warranty details.
