Product: HP Probook 4530s
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have the monitor Defined in my pc as "Generic PnP Monitor" and this gives me only 4 screen resolutions and this makes everything look big, and I was wondering are there specific driver for the Notebook monitor that might give me more resolutions or it's well defined like this?

 

P.S: My pc is HP Probook 4530s and Operating system Windows 8.1 everything is working fine and all the devices are defined in the device manager.

Hi:

 

I don't know of any notebook PC's where the monitor isn't lised as a generic pnp monitor.

 

More than likely you are missing the applicable graphics driver for your notebook.

 

Most of the time there are no ! marks in the device manager when the graphics driver is missing.

 

If the graphics driver is not installed, in the device manager, under the display adapters device manager category, there will be a device listed as a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

 

That driver basically allows you to see the display.  You can't change the graphics resolution to its optimal settting, nor will you have graphics acceleration or be able to adjust the brightness.

 

I see W8.1 graphics drivers on your notebook's support page.

 

If it comes with the onboard Intel graphics only, install the Intel graphics driver

 

If it comes with the AMD/Intel switchable graphics, install the AMD graphics driver only, which installs both the Intel and AMD GPU's.

Mine is listed as same- on a new 4 month old Windows 10 machine. As for resolution have you installed the graphics driver for Windows 8.1 from your support page?

Unfortunately yes, i've installed all the drivers in the list yet i still have the same definition of the monitor. 😕

I have the driver installed and everything yet i still have the same problem, i think it's defined correctly and i have to deal with it from what i understood of you, thanks!
