My new HP Laptop will display out to a HDMI monitor using the port built in to the laptop. I also purchased a G5 USB-C dock and all periphials work with it except the HDMI or Display Port. No matter which port of those I use, no image will display and Windows does not detect any additional displays when using the G5 dock.
Please advise on what I should try to correct this.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/za-en/document/ish_7737544-7737589-16
It has ONE hopeless USB 3.2 Gen 1.0 Type-C port; SuperSpeed 5 Gbps signaling rate (data transfer only; charging or external monitors not supported) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
In short it is NOT compatible with your HP USB-C G5 dock nor any USB-C docks.
Other option (USB-A dock) : https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05357751
