I just got this hp laptop 14-dq0734ds and I'm wondering is it possible to get a new motherboard to get a better processor?

You would have to buy additional parts (fan and heat sink) to install a motherboard with a better processor since your notebook has a Pentium processor according to the specs.

It would probably cost you less money to buy a new PC that already comes with a newer and better processor than to upgrade yours.
