So im shopping around for a motherboard to replace the one that I fried out of my zbook 17 mobile workstation. But I'm getting a number of options ending In 001 vs 501 vs 601. So does it really matter much if I buy 735592-601? Or do I need to replace it with the one that I pulled out for a worry free Install? 735592-001 9371p was original.
Vs 735592-601 vs 735592-501.

What is the generation of your machine ?
- 73559-601 is NOT valid: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=73559-601
- 735592-001 is for use in models without Windows 8: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=735592-001
- 735592-502.: is also invalid https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=735592-502
I think the first one is 735592-601 which is for For use in models with Windows 8

You need the first one with Windows 8 Professional Edition otherwise you may NOT be upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
Regards.

Yeah my bad I was hoping you'd catch that typo there I was missing the last digit but it should have been 735592-601. I'm just wondering if I'd be okay with buying the board that ends in 601 or 502 as opposed to the one I pulled out of there which is 001 that being the last three digits on the board there. But they all start with 735592-***
Thanks sorry for the confusion

If I took out 001 why would I be replacing it with 601 when it works perfectly fine with 001 and I never had Windows 8 nor will i return to Windows 8. I'll be using Windows 10 or reverting back the Windows 7 for stability if at all.

Also I don't know if your skill set involves repairing motherboards or soldering. But I fried my motherboard testing for voltage. I mistakenly had one of my leads touch a metal contact on the board and it sparked and well yeah you know the rest. My concern was , I'm an idiot, and I didn't take my CPU out so I'm kind of scared that that might have been fried as well. maybe you could lend me your best guess and enlighten me to if my suspicions may be correct? and that along with this motherboard if I should just go ahead and buy a CPU to be safe which I think should be the ideal route anyhow just so I can avoid any further delays on getting this thing up and running And of course I could just always return it later If it does provide to be working. Another thing is I've become quite interested in knowing if this is repairable or not? and if this is something that just might of shorted out on the board and I could you know quickly replace one of the resistors or what not and how involving this job might be? it's something that really interests me and I'm wanting to know if this could be resolved if someone with some basic know-how and use of tools and a little direction could possibly get this fixed on his own? I love learning and I think it would be a fun project and I'm actually considering possibly taking some schooling on this because it interests me so much. I'd appreciate your thoughts or suggestions on the matter thanks again. Sorry for the typos I'm on my phone and I'm talking to my assistant here so I apologize but hopefully you could come to your conclusion as to what I've been mumbling here lol thanks again buddy appreciate it
