Can I upgrade the for Win 11 unsupported motherboard myself? And which motherboard is advised? Current core is i7 - 6700HQ.

You can just use an easy workaround to do an in-place upgrade to W11 as is.
Watch this video:
How to Install Windows 11 on Unsupported PC in 2025 (New Easiest Method, No CMD)
Does your PC's system board have a TPM 2.0 security chip?
I looked at the service manual for the model series and while it does have motherboards with Intel 8th gen core processors, it makes no mention of any of the system boards having TPM 2.0 security devices in chapter 1 of the service manual.

If the 8th gen core processor motherboards don't have TPM 2.0 security chips, then the PC still would not meet Microsoft's minimum hardware requirements.

The i7 6700HQ is an 6th gen board. Information I’ve found indicaties in has a TPM security chip. Still it is unsupported. Laptop is perfectly fine. No need for replacement or upgrade. Just need to determine: stay with Win10 even after Oct 2025 or unsupported Win11. Any idea about 1.) risk level and 2.) what would be less risky?

That's your decision, not mine.
I've been running W11 on 10 unsupported HP and Dell notebook's and PC's since it first came out in 2021.
They all run fine and I have never had a problem.
So, you have seen from my decision that I abandoned W10 years ago, and will continue using W11 until it is no longer supported.
