Z4000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi.

I have a Z4000 mouse which (despite there are no drivers for windows 10) worked perfectly until a few days ago.

Suddenly the wheel has stopped working.

Can someone tell me how can I solve the problem?

Thank you.

@Trifase, thanks for your quick response and time.

I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us.

As you mentioned you tried all the steps but the issue still persists.

It certainly sounds to be a hardware issue with your wireless mouse.

Hey there! @Trifase,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I understand you have issues using the mouse wheel as it has stopped functioning properly.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any changes to the wireless mouse?

As you mentioned you have issues using the mouse wheel as it has stopped functioning properly.

Try the steps recommended below.

Try Re-syncing the keyboard and mouse connection for receivers.

If the first wireless mouse is not set to default you might get this error.

Try making the 1st mouse as default and check if it helps.

In the search box type devices and printer, open devices and printer select the wireless mouse which you want to make it as default.

Right-click on the wireless mouse and select set it as default. Now check if you get the same error.

If the issue still persists uninstall the wireless mouse from device manager and check if it helps.

1.Using the search box on the taskbar, search for and open Device Manager.

2.In the Device Manager window, double-click mice and other pointing devices, right-click the name of the wireless mouse and then select uninstall.

3. Restart your PC.

The drivers should automatically get installed once you restart your PC.

If the issue still persists try opening the top cover of the wireless mouse and clean the dust near the mouse wheel.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot wireless mouse issues with your PC.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps.

It is a hardware issue with the wireless mouse, Please contact HP support for service options.

Thank you, MrRobot

I tried everything, but nothing resulted.

I think the mouse died ... and how much I liked this mouse ... 😞

Best wishes.
