My camera is not working

Hi @erkinov26, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your camera's 📷gone shy on you, has it?  Like a celebrity hiding from the paparazzi, it's decided to go incognito!  Fear not, we're going to play digital paparazzi ourselves and coax that camera back into the limelight and get it flashing those gorgeous digital smiles again! 😉

Let's try a few little detective tricks 🕵️to solve this camera caper and bring your lens back to life, step-by-step:

Check Camera Privacy Settings:

  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.
  • Ensure that Camera access is turned on.
  • Scroll down and make sure the apps you want to use the camera with (e.g., Zoom, Teams) have camera access enabled.

Update or Reinstall Camera Drivers:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Imaging Devices section.
  • Right-click on your camera and select Update Driver. Choose Search automatically for drivers.
  • If updating doesn't work, right-click on the camera again, select Uninstall Device, and restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

Run the Camera Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Select Camera and run the troubleshooter.

Check Physical Connections:

  • Ensure the camera is not physically obstructed or disabled. If it's an external webcam, check the USB connection.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve minor issues. Click on the Start Menu and select Restart

Hopefully, one of these camera-coaxing techniques will bring your webcam back to its picture-perfect self! Let's get you back in focus and ready for your close-up! 🙂

Take care, stay in focus, and have a wonderfully clear and camera-ready day!😇
