A few weeks ago, I went to use my Laptop and when I opened it, I saw that the frame around the bottom left corner of the screen was lifting, the hinge was detaching, and then after closing a couple times the lid was coming apart. Each time I opened the laptop it got worse, so I kept it open. Last week the screen started blinking and then went completely dark, so I cannot use the laptop. This laptop is only 2 years old and not overused, as I am a senior. My Laptop is out of warranty. I contacted HP and was told it would cost me $350 to $450 to fix it and this was before the screen stopped working. My case was referred to the Consumer Escalation department, who did not help me. I researched by checking the HP Support Forum and appears to be an issue with many laptops. I also found out that this is a known issue and there was a Class Action lawsuit against HP. Any suggestion how I may resolve this issue and get my Laptop fixed or replaced?
