After 5 years, my laptop battery died. Unfortunately, it seems to be the only battery, that works with my pc.
I swapped it with 3 different fake batteries first, because it was hard to get the original. All had the same issue, after that, two original batteries, that I used after, had the same issue: start up, battery level is updated and stays at exactly this percentage, until I shut it down and start it up again - restart doesn´t change the battery level, it really needs to be shut down and started up again, in order to see an updated battery level. This is for both ways, charging the laptop and discharging - nothing changes, although it charges nearly normally. The problem is, that the laptop also doesn´t recognize, when the battery is empty, or full, so i have to be really careful, to not overcharge it, or it goes up in flames...
Swaping the battery to the one, that came with the laptop and it works beautifully, except no capacity anymore. So far, noone could help me yet, i hope, here i am luckier...
i tried updating the bios already, obviously many different batteries with the same issue, except the one, the laptop came with. I deinstalled the battery drivers, which reinstalled themselves at startup again. I tried calibrating the battery, more or less how it should be, but in my case, the pc doesn´t shut down, so it just turns black, as the laptop doesn´t have any clue, how much battery is still left, so what else should i do?

@mirahei, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It sounds like you've gone through quite a bit trying to resolve this issue! From what you described, it seems like the laptop is having trouble correctly recognizing or managing the battery status, despite swapping out several different batteries and updating the BIOS.
Here are a few more potential solutions you can try:
Battery Calibration
Refer to this guide to calibrate the battery: HP Notebook PCs - Testing and calibrating the battery (Windows) | HP® Support
Reset the Battery Driver:
Sometimes, even though you've uninstalled the battery drivers, the system may still have corrupted or outdated drivers lurking around. You can try a more thorough approach by:
Uninstalling the battery driver: Go to Device Manager > Batteries > Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and uninstall it.
Shut down the laptop and disconnect the power cord.
Remove the battery (if possible), wait 30 seconds, then reinsert it.
Restart the laptop and let Windows automatically reinstall the drivers.
This may reset any lingering power management issues.
Perform a Hard Reset:
Shutdown the laptop completely (make sure it’s not in sleep or hibernation).
Unplug the charger, and remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
Reinsert the battery, plug the charger back in, and turn the laptop on.
This can sometimes clear out any residual charge or settings that might be affecting the battery reporting.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you so much for your time and help, i tried that all and nothing worked unfortunately. Thinking about updating to windows 11 or reseting the pc, although i don´t think, that will change anything, i am afraid... I will give the battery calibration another shot and after that, i guess, i also don´t know, what else i should try
