Common problems for Battery

To update the BIOS from F.11 to F.25, I have created a USB flash drive using the HP Windows utility on a separate Windows 11 notebook. After starting my HP with the flash drive plugged in and selecting the USB drive booting, it ignores the flash drive and boots with the native BIOS. I found that the flash drive to work must be created with the Microsoft utility Rufus. My question is how to do it. Shouldn't the HP Windows utility work as well?

Watch these two videos at the links below for how to make and use the BIOS recovery flash drive to recover or update the BIOS outside of Windows.

Thank you so much, Paul_Tikkanen! Unfortunately the created USB Flash drive following the instructions in the video failed to update the BIOS. The computer did not find any flash drive with the required files or else those files were corrupted. I tried creating the USB flash again and again it failed with the same error message. Sorry for my delay in replying to your message. As I said back in my first call, my Victus(SN#5CD1518J8K) came without a OS installed(FreeDOS), and I have since then installed Fedora Linux, which I have been updating frequently. As you most probably know, Fedora updates also the firmwares, but of course not the BIOS. So I am still running on BIOS F.11, and there are messages of hardware errors on shut down, which are deferred errors. Thank you for your patience.

You're very welcome.

Using the serial number you posted, I found that this is the latest BIOS update HP currently has for your notebook (F.26):

Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 Software and Driver Details

The update should work if your PC's motherboard has one of the ID's listed on the BIOS update link:

SSID 88EB, 88EC, BCDE, BCEE, 8934

If you are still unable to create a USB BIOS update/recovery flash drive or your PC's motherboard has a different ID, unfortunately, I won't be able to help you update the BIOS.
