Hello Hp/Jeff..
I too am suffering from a broken hinge on my spectre XT, it's a great laptop but there does seem to be a design fault. I've managed to fix it once with superglue but now the plastic on both sides of the left hinge has broken as well as the bezel close to the bottom left corner, the back cover is also sticking out.
Please can you reach out to me to help me get this fixed - much appreciated.

Hi HP + all,
I am currently in a similar situation. The bottom left part of the frame (very close to the left hinge) is detached from the screen, making it difficult to open and close the laptop. I have had this problem at least two (most three) times in the past year and each time have sent it to HP for repair while having the one-year waranty. It appears to be an issue of faulty glue, but if left untreated, the opening and closing gets more difficult (even while I hold the frame and screen together while performing such actions) and the left hinge will start creaking.
My warranty is expired and the additional repair period that HP gives after a repair (30 days? 90 days? I forgot) is over. My last repair was in late 2013 or early 2014. I do not carry my latop by the frame at all, and I treat the Ultrabook with care (gently placing on table when using after first frame separation). I no longer close it at all and only use it on my home desk. It's very frustrating to repeatedly have the same issue, very frustrating that I can't take it to public places without risking something, and it also makes me unhappy since each cycle of sending the laptop over and waiting for it to come back takes away a week or more of work. Can someone please address this? I am nearing my wit's end with this repeated issue. Thanks.

The left hinge on my wife's HP 6T-1000 just broke, it is attempting to pop out of the frame.
What do we need to do to get this repaired. The warrenty on this laptop has expired, but this is most certainly an issue with the design of the hinge. Please Help!

Hi.
Hope i am not hijacking the thread ?
Same situation as above, only it's the right hand hinge on a friends Ultrabook that has broken away from the lid and broken the screen bezel.
The machine was bought abroad as a present, and now in the UK.
Is there any help available from HP regarding this (common) fault ?
I'm sure there has to be some sort of recall on this fault, and the S.O.G.A (Sale Of Goods Act) would come into play here ?
Awaiting a reply. Thanks.
