OEM HP Battery has failed after 18 months of replacement.  Shouldn't an OEM battery last more than 18 months?

Unfortunately, the battery is a component of the laptop that is only warrantied for one year, depending on the country or whether the laptop's owner purchased a seperate care pack battery-only warranty.

I think that it should, but doesn't always last for more than a year. In the US, the warranty for a battery is one year.
