Hi @Babbu_o8,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Victus laptop battery is draining very quickly, even when idle, and the battery health shows only 75% after just one year. Let’s go through what could be causing this and how to improve it.

Check battery health and usage

On Windows, open Settings > System > Power & Battery > Battery Usage.

See which apps or processes are consuming the most power.

Some background apps, like Windows updates, antivirus scans, or cloud sync services, can drain the battery even when idle.

Adjust power settings

Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery > Power Mode and select Best Power Efficiency or Better Battery.

Reduce screen brightness and disable unnecessary keyboard backlight.

Update BIOS and drivers

Go to HP Support > Software & Drivers and ensure your BIOS, chipset, and battery drivers are up to date.

Sometimes battery calibration and power management issues are fixed with updates.

Battery calibration

Charge the laptop to 100%, then let it drain completely to 0% and recharge fully.

This can help Windows more accurately report battery health and improve battery management.

Disable unnecessary background apps

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

End or disable high-usage apps that run in the background.

Check for battery wear

A health of 75% after 1 year is lower than normal. Typically, a laptop battery should remain 85–95% after a year under normal use.

This could indicate premature battery degradation, which may be a hardware defect.

Use HP Battery Check

Open HP Support Assistant > Battery Check.

This tool will diagnose your battery and indicate if it needs replacement.

I hope this helps.
