My laptop is HP g040au. 2 out of 3 usb ports stopped working after I installed Windows 7 32bit.

I spent a few days looking for solutions. I tried:

1. Disconnect power, remove battery and put back after 30 mins.

2. Install relevant USB 3.0 driver.

Did not work at all for me.

Finally I fixed it by updating AMD chipset driver.
