HP Pavilion 15-n209TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am using an HP Pavilion 15-n209TX laptop. 7 years old machine.

The Story is, I accidently performed format on my HDD drive (which was on another HP R014TX Laptop).  So, to recover the files through an paid recovery software, I connected the HDD to this laptop HP Pavilion 15-n209TX which runs on SSD.

I use an cabinet which fits in the DVD ROM slot to connect the HDD with the laptop (Put the HDD in the cabinet and slide it in the DVD ROM Slot).

When I first connected, It connected successfully without any issues and I was able to recover half of the stuff somehow using the software. But then I have another issue with this HP Pavilion 15-n209TX lappy, If I shut down, it does not shuts down completely, the power, Wifi lights are still on and fan runs. I have force shut down every time.  As I did this couple of time (Installing the HDD and a big update), it started booting up in the disk check mode and then did not detect the HDD in the My computer as well as device manager. But when I checked in the BIOS, it shows the HDD along with SSD there.  I suspect, bad sectors in HDD.

Now I am stuck. As I am not able to continue my recovery, as my paid recovery software is only for one month.

So someone please help me what to do!!  How can I repair the bad sector and get my HDD back to working!!   I even cannot contact anyone else physically, as its complete COVID lockdown here!!

I need 3 below help -

Query 1 - The above issue of HDD not being detected, possibly due to disk error.

Query 2 - The improper shut down. The Led's and fans still on (never goes off) even after shutdown..  I have to force shutdown, which brings all these errors.

Query 3 (another big issue) - The laptop boots only with the secondary laptop all the time. If the secondary HDD is removed, it boots normally with the primary SSD..   I do not know the BIOS settings.  What I want is, to boot with SSD either I add or not add the HDD.  What is the setting change should I do in BIOS to correct this (I don't understand UEFI and Legacy boot order)..

Please Help.  Quick help really appreciated..
