So I was thinking about upgrading my computers RAM and went to check which RAM is compatible with my computer via Crucial.com. However, when I ran the scan of my computer it told me that my product is not found is their database. Why is this? I bought my computer from HP directly.

Here is a like to a pic of the web page:

Hi,

Your machine is a CTO machine which means configurable by the customer, so that might be the reason it is not listed on the site as upgrades depend on what CPU, slots... the notebook has.

Anyway if you have an Intel Core CPU in the machine you can follow the listing for the HP 15-DAxxxx Models (15-da1000 - 15-da1999 Intel Core) on the Crucial Website

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-15-daxxxx-models-%2815-da1000---15-da1...

Max RAM is 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB. On page 42 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM:

https://content.abt.com/documents/90195/15DA0046NR_manual.pdf

Hope it helps,

David

Thanks, do you know of a way to check how many of my memory banks are already used, without having to open the machine? I ordered it with the 8GB of memory.
