Good day everyone,
My HP laptop Touchscreen suddenly stopped working. I have updated drivers and it did not fixed it.
I have also contacted Microsoft and they tried troubleshooting it but it did not work.
Microsoft even went to HP website to try and download the HID Compliant TouchScreen driver but we coul not find it on HP website.
Initially, when this issue started, I was seeing the HID Compliant Touchscreen driver among hidden drivers in my system.
then when i unhid the driver. i could not enable it or update it. it was grey out.
I was advised to uninstall it and restart my Laptop so that it will be install by my laptop again. but after i restarted my pc, the HID compliant touchscreen driver was not install back.
based on advice from Microsoft asking me to contact HP to provide that HID compliant touchscreen driver for me, is why i am here making this post for help. I am pleading for HP to provide me the HID Compliant touchscreen driver.
My system information is:
Product number: 3Y0V5EA#BH5
Serial number: [personal info removed]
HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dy0xxx
other relevant information about my laptop is in the screenshot attached to this post.
I also noticed the component test is not in my BIOS when I tried to used that to troubleshoot this issue.
please i need your help to make my touchscreen start working again.
thank you in advance for your help.

Hi @GoodDay247,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that your HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14's touchscreen has stopped working suddenly. There could be several reasons for this issue, and I'll provide you with some troubleshooting steps to try and resolve it.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches or software issues that might be causing the touchscreen to stop responding.
- Check for updates: Ensure that your operating system (Windows or macOS) and all device drivers are up to date. Manufacturers often release updates to address bugs and improve device performance.
- Disable and enable the touchscreen: Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu), expand the "Human Interface Devices" section, and find your touchscreen device. Right-click on it and choose "Disable," then wait a few seconds and right-click again to "Enable" it.
- Calibrate the touchscreen: Sometimes, recalibrating the touchscreen can fix alignment issues. To do this, search for "Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input" in the Start menu, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Check for hardware issues: Clean the touchscreen gently with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure there is no debris or dirt affecting its functionality. Also, check for any physical damage or cracks on the screen.
- Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter: In Windows, you can run the built-in Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to identify and fix issues with hardware components. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Hardware and Devices.
- Perform a system restore: If the touchscreen issue started after a recent software installation or update, you can try performing a system restore to revert your laptop to a previous state when the touchscreen was working correctly.
- Test in Safe Mode: Boot your laptop into Safe Mode to check if the touchscreen works there. If it does, it indicates that a third-party application or driver might be causing the problem.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your reply. I have done all you that you mentioned but none of them solved my issue.
I also notice the component test is not on my BIOS anymore when I tried to troubleshoot the screen issue using BIOS.
I have also gone to the HP website to download this driver "HID-Compliant Touchscreen driver" since I uninstalled it during my troubleshooting but this driver "HID Compliant Touchscreen driver" is not on the HP website.
After I uninstall this"HID Compliant Touchscreen driver" and I restarted my PC, it was not installed again by my PC.
I have also uninstalled the recent Windows update via the update history but it did not work.
