What is your Pavillion 15-ec0xxx machine ?. What is its storage option now ? For M.2 storage, the limitation is very high BUT due to its physical size vendors can squeeze 2TB on it (some vendors do 4TB drives now but I don't know how good/bad/ugly they are). Samsung M.2 NVMe (PCIe 3x4) SSD's are very popular now.
