Hi all,
I have been using my HP DV7t-6100 since 2011 and it has been a great laptop for me. I don’t plan to replace it until the hardware either stops working or Windows 10 stops supporting my i7-2620M.
Since it is almost 10 years old, I need to replace the CMOS battery. Unfortunately, the CMOS battery doesn't use the standard CR 2032 type as desktops use. Instead it uses what appears to be a modified CR2032 battery wrapped in electrical tape as shown here.
.
The part number in the manual references HP Part # 640902-001, but that has long been discontinued. I would like to order directly from HP, but so far I can only find third party options such as the link that I provided above.
I know that I could jury rig one with a CR 2032 and some electrical tape, but I would rather not. Can someone provide a compatible HP part number for a replacement CMOS battery that will work in my HP DV7t-6100 that I can order from HP?

Thank you Echo Lake but paying $80 for support for to get a cheap CMOS battery seems unreasonable.
I’d like to hear from anyone who has needed to replace these specialized CR2032 batteries. Thanks
