You may have more going on than you think. Distortion of that part generally means failing hinges and you really should get the laptop examined by a technician. Here is the Service Manual:
I think the part that is giving you trouble is part of the display bezel. See p. 20 and the diagram of screen components and confirm and we can likely find the part somewhere if indeed that is all you need.

Thanks! Yes that’s what I need.
The hinges themselves seem to work properly and I think just replacing the plastic hinge cover will be sufficient.
I have found the part I need: L23204-001
it seems to be out of stock on the HP parts website though. Probably I need to find some external reseller?
