I have 2 additional monitors I would like to connect to the laptop to have a 3 screen set up, but the laptop only has one HDMI port, i tried a usb c to hdmi adapter but the usb c port does not have video capability. Any help is appreciated.

You are going to need a port replicator/docking station which has DisplayLink capability. This provides video output using a simple USB data signal as you have on your laptop. Many such devices will create 2 extended desktops and you can use the laptop screen as a third or perhaps connect to the HDMI port.
