Hello, I have a HP 15 in laptop that I got for Black Friday, and I recently ordered a crucial memory 8gb Ram card 2400,  the simple indirections and install Manuel didn’t provide the full specs of the laptop, when I opened it up, had no fan, and had only 1 RAM slot, so I was wondering why it had no fan and will this 8gb RAM card work for my recently purchased computer? Please tell me in advanced! Thank you! And I HOPE it can be upgraded to 8gb Ram as it only came with 4gb in 1 slot I’m a bit worried so... If HP can give me a response that would be great!

Here is the manual for that model line

On page 50, it states that a 8GB memory card can be used and gives the cat#, depending on the model line.

Since you bought a Crucial memory module, it might be wise to use the Crucial site to verify it will work.

Use the scanner tool from the lower right of that page to Find a 100% guaranteed compatible upgrade.

"Run our scanner tool to find compatible SSD & DRAM upgrades."

 

Page 62 tells about the fan and where it is located, if you are curious and how to get to it.

Hi, @Moises2456 

 

Models with the Pentium/Celeron processors only have one memory slot and the max memory is 1 x 8 GB.

 

Models with the Pentium/Celeron processors do not come with fans by design.

 

It has been that way for a few years now.

 

This was not a mistaken omission by the assembly plant.
