Hp Laptop 17-by001st
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I need to obtain an itemized repair estimate for my HP laptop. My laptop is out of warranty and I was told about a month or two ago that it would cost around $318 dollars to repair. Browsing the forums it seems that the best way to obtain this estimate is to ask here rather than calling in to customer service.

I would like to take care of this ASAP - I have a case number if that helps. A prompt reply would be appreciated. Thank you.

Edit: Model number is HP Laptop 17-by0061st

I meant to go back and fill out the model number before posting but I forgot. My apologies.

You have a case number and an estimate.

I would guess your case is with HP and the estimate came from HP.

That being the case, there is certainly nothing we can offer that would add any value to what you know.

Why?

We are a volunteer workforce - we do not have any direct access to HP to plead your case.

We can ask for a review - how / when / if there is a response depends on a number of factors, including immediate need.

What to do?

Decide whether you want to have your computer fixed.

If yes:  Contact your case contact number and tell the representative you need a shipping box - ask for instructions.

Know that repairs take time - a couple of weeks is normal even for simple repairs - and that assumes the parts are available and nothing "else" goes wrong along the way.

I will forward a request - if / when an agent has time to answer, you will hear back.

Request for Review

  • I will submit a request that someone review your question / concern.

Worth Noting

  • Our Community is not HP Technical Support, nor are we HP Sales or HP Service.
  • Our request for assistance on your behalf does not influence the outcome:  Our request is not a magic back door into HP Support.
  • The time frame (how long it takes) for a response is not controlled by the Community.
  • If / When there is a response, a Community moderator / agent will (should) post back on this thread before using other methods to contact you.

Note to those reading:

  • Do not contact random numbers posted in a public or private message by “new members”.  Vermin are looking for victims – don’t be next.
  • Please do not post any personal or case information here - we cannot make use of the data.
  • Posting personal information at a public site increases your risk from rats and scammers.

Bump for visibility. Not sure if this is the correct place to ask so would appreciate a reply either way.

Any advice on what to do on this matter would be appreciated.

@Dragon-Fur I did decide to call into HP support as I did not know how long the wait would be on here. I saw on another thread that it might be easier to contact HP here instead of phone regarding a receipt. I did not realize until the other day that the support forums were not part of HP itself.

I was able to get through to someone who was able help me with this issue today on the phone so I do not need you to contact anyone at HP. My apologies if you already did. Thank you for your assistance.

The HP representative sent me the receipt to my email. If you want to delete this thread that would be fine. Thanks.

You are welcome.

Having clicked to the Solution, that is all that is needed.

Also, thanks for the Kudos.  Smiling.

Should you be contacted, simply say, "All Good - thanks" and decline additional help - Doing so will free the agent contacting you to move on to the next request.

Good Luck.

Stay Safe.
