Hi @Ricard_2468,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Which HP laptop model are you using?
  • What version of Windows is installed?
  • Are you currently able to see any settings for the trackpad in Windows or the HP software?

In the meantime, here are a few steps you could try:

  1. Check Windows Settings: Go to Settings → Devices → Touchpad and see if there’s an option like “Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected”. Make sure that option is turned off.
  2. Update the driver via HP Support: Visit https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers  and enter your laptop model. Look under Drivers & Software → Driver – Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices for the latest trackpad driver. Installing the newest driver often enables advanced options like disabling the touchpad when a mouse is connected.
  3. Check HP Control Center / HP Smart App: Some HP laptops include a utility that manages touchpad settings; look for an option to disable the trackpad when a mouse is plugged in.
  4. Device Manager: Open Device Manager → Mice and other pointing devices → [your touchpad], right-click, select Update driver, and choose Search automatically. Sometimes Windows picks up enhanced features this way.

I hope this helps.
