Need to replace cooling fan.  Error came up from cooling fan not able to handle overheating.  Cleaned out dust from vents.  Need to replace fan.  Not overheating now, because temp cooler outdoors and indoors. Fan was making loud noises for a few days.  I have HP Cool sense. It is on.  Error message said to repair the Bios and turn off bitlocker. I never could turn it off.

Hi, @REO51ST

Thanks

My mistake.  I am going to delete my post, because the info I posted is definitely incorrect.

if you look at chapter 3, page 37, item 11 of the service manual, the fan for the 15" models is 762505-001, and that number is repeated elsewhere in the manual.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04402649

So, according to what you posted, and what the service manual indicates, the correct part number of the two would be 762505-001.

If you look at the parts list for your exact model...

HP BEATS SPECIAL EDITION 15-P071NR NOTEBOOK PC

http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=J6U94UA

There are two different fan parts numbers listed...

762505-001FAN
763700-001FAN

If you looked at the service manual link I posted for the 15-p000 model series, the only fan part number listed is the first one...762505-001.

So, IMO, that would be the part number you need of the two.

OOps.  The computer is an HP Beats 15-p030 nr, not 15-p071 as told to me by a tech

Hi:

Here is the link to the parts list for the 15-p030nr.

http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=G6R14UA

It only lists one fan...762505-001, which matches that the service manual reports.
